For some time now, there have been prophets of doom for the film industry. These people believe that the film industry is doomed because of the trends brought about by digital media, personal video cameras, the internet, and a whole slew of other reasons. The funny thing is that the assumptions are correct, but the conclusion they derived is farthest from the truth.
Film production is alive and well, and there are more film makers today than there ever was before, and more film makers have been graduated from film production schools. Additionally, more and more people who hope to be film makers are enrolling in such schools.

Additionally, there has been a segmentation in terms of the disciplines being offered. There are now courses in film production, direction, editing, sound direction, videography, film photography, screen writing, story writing and set design.
The business of film production is growing and is expected to grow more in the coming years.
